Each embroidery begins as an original drawing; some are sutured (hand-stitched) onto upholstery foam as components of soft sculptures for an installation I'm preparing called Through Lines. I vary floss count (one, two, or three strands) and stitches to enhance texture, color, and weight of line. Photographing my textiles-in-progress led me to create some pieces which are to be viewed from both sides (front and back).

Sizes vary: soft sculptures are 4" in depth and a maximum of 24" width & height, flat works are approximately 5" x 7" to 25" x 28"
